How did you get into baking?
Oh my! It’s a long story actually, but the short version is that my father and mother were always avid (and still are) bakers.
Growing up with such a sweet tooth I soon picked up baking and realized how much I enjoyed following recipes, thinking up ways to create new ones, and testing out new and exciting ingredients.
It wasn’t until just recently that I have done some serious exploring in the kitchen. But don’t ask me to cook…you’ll only get mac n’ cheese!
What do you love most about the baking process?
I adore sharing the delicious finished products with my loved ones and community! But my favorite part about baking is how any worry I may have in my day-to-day life seems to just float away once I get mixing!
What inspired you to start a blog?
I was working a very non-creative job where I felt un-inspired and fatigued. One day my significant other mentioned that I should make more of an effort to do things that inspire me and keep me creative. So to keep me on track I decided to start a blog where I showcased new recipes I tried once a week.
What recipe are you most proud of?
Yes! Coffee Flour Milk Chocolate Chip Cookie
Do you have a favorite ingredient that you like to use?
I love using King Arthur Flour!
What’s an ingredient that you’ve never used, but would like to try?
Lavender! I can’t believe I haven’t used it yet but I want to!
Are there any lesser known brands or products that you enjoy using?
Do you have any advice for someone who is thinking about starting a blog?
Just do it! Like Nike says. Sometimes the only way to find your voice is just to start writing down whatever comes to your mind.
Most people see the blogs that are well branded, have a consistent voice, and visually appealing. With that being said, we rarely see the learning curve most bloggers had to go through. But be rest assured that we all (even now) need time to find themselves.
What type of gear/tools do you use for creating your blog posts?
My simple iPhone Camera to take the photos and a wonderful app called My Color Story.
